My mom sounded a little calmer this time, my dad on the other hand, not so much. “Mom, they arrested me. Can you come get me?” I could hear my dad in the background screaming to leave me in there. He would’ve, too, but I was my mom’s baby. They drove up to get me. My dad didn’t say a word to me the whole drive. I was legitimitely terrified he was gonna kill me. I found out later he was more mad at the fact he had to drive to Georgia with Dennis’ aunt (that woman was batshit crazy). He did not appreciate 25 hrs in a car with that woman. Of course, I didn’t learn. I still remember telling them something along the lines of, “Georgia is a beautiful place to spend your anniversery.” So, yeah. 26 years later, my sister still gives me shit about ruining her Thanksgiving, lol.
